    Hi there everyone
I just thought I would let you know I have entered into next year’s Philippine Hobie Challenge. The race is ~250nm over 5 days or so, stopping off at islands for camping and villages/resorts, depending on the route, on Hobie 16’s. I entered with my father, David (Weta 962). We had to think of a team name, so we came up with “The Weta the Beta”. A bit lame, I know but thought it might be a conversation starter with some of the other sailors.

My brother (who sailed Dad’s Weta at Jervis Bay) has teamed up with a mate of his, too. Their team is “Ooptimum Height” (both are 6’4″+)

The 4 of us did the race in 2013, but missed this year

Here is the website for anyone interested

    Ahoy Sailors!

They have a facebook page, too.

I can imagine a great event like this one day involving Weta’s – it would be awesome.

    See you all
    Alistair
