    Hi all,

Firstly, thanks for the great sailing at the ACT Champs. I had a great time and learnt a lot, and from the rankings the only way is up.

    Now for a request.

I went down to the CYC (Canberra) tonight for the weekly twilight race to find that my Weta (Wetass762) had had some items stolen within the last week. Multiple other lines were cut to remove stuff quickly. I had been keeping them on the boat to speed up rigging time after work. Items stolen were:

    – Red screecher (including turning blocks and lines
    – Prodder
    – Centreboard
    – Mainsheet block and lines

Noting that the screecher, prod and centreboard are all specific to the Weta I am expecting them to end up at the tip or be posted online for sale. Could you please let me know if you hear anything (Tony @ 0414 188 497)

I’ll be making a claim tomorrow and contacting Glenn Marney about stock. It’s the enbuggerance not the loss that sucks.

    Thanks all,

    Tony Moor

Just a note guys the main sheet blocks and fiddle are custom made for WETA ! you cannot buy it from Ronstan or off the shelf so if you see one not on a weta get a pic of boat ?

      Hi Tony,

I have heard of another boat being similarly damaged and pilfered in the last couple of years.  But only one, usually a very safe location.   Could you inform the CYC office.

Hope the claim is resolved quickly.

      Leigh

Very sorry to hear this Tony and sadly one can only conclude that they have been taken by another Weta owner.

I suggest that everyone should mark their gear in a conspicuous place with their sail number using a UV resistant permanent marker or paint.

The Artline 400XF 2.3mm Paint Marker is available in multiple colours including White for around $10 from Officeworks, Staples and other fine stationers.

Hi tony that sux that some low life steals your rigging the kite also has a weta logo on it so if they try to use it , it will be easily identified .

      Glenn
