Although a big doubter on catamarans for the America’s Cup, it has been as exciting series. A bit conflicted on who to cheer for! Tom Slingsby comes from my wife’s hometown sailing club – Gosford, plus the other Oz talent on Oracle. But now I have a piece of the NZ sailing empire (Weta) should I be preparing the chullie bun with a sex pack in preparation for a NZ victory!

I guess Auckland is cheaper to get to than SF, so, come on Deano, get it done! One good start should do the business.

Would catamarans be suitable for the Hauraki Gulf? Maybe a giant trimaran series would be the go!

Not much more Deano and crew could have done in the last race. Overused term, but ETNZ must be “gutted” after that. Super effort that came so close. Can NZ get off the mat and have another go? Or will the NZ team be absorbed into other teams? I agree with TNZ re crew nationality. Seems strange for a USA boat to have one national on board.

Will be interesting to see what shape the next A-Cup will take.
