    While many will use a Weta to potter about their local waters or race their Weta around the bouys, there are options for those who are interested in going further.

    As well as being used by multiple entrants for endurance events such as a the 300 Mile Everglades Challenge

    or the 200 mile Texas 200

    Wetas have also been used for long distance cruising along the coast of Australia (350Km from Townsville to Cairns) and José Carlos Sánchez has adapted his for solo cruising in Spain.

    Modifications include larger hatches, furling sails, larger sails, reefing points, bulkheads for waterproofing the cockpit, steering system for bow paddling, auxiliary propulsion, camping and cooking facilities.
